Lada teases new SUV concept for Moscow motor show

Russian manufacturer Lada has teased a new SUV concept ahead of its debut at the Moscow International Auto Salon (MIAS) later this month.

Little details have been revealed about the mystery concept, however the company has confirmed that it will show "19 new offerings" at the Moscow motor show, including six concepts.

The bright yellow concept, dubbed ‘XCode’, departs from the old, boxy design of the ageing Niva off-roader, with prominent character lines in the shape of a cross visible in the teaser image.

Little else is known about the new SUV, though reports online suggest it will take on the likes of the Nissan Juke when the production model debuts sometime next year.

2016 marks the 50th anniversary for the Lada brand, which was founded in 1966 and which could be one of the reasons the company preparing big things for the Moscow event.

For now, we’ll need to wait until August 25 to see what the Lada XCode looks like – so stay tuned.
